"Alex Doesn't Live Here Anymore, Pt. 2" is the twenty-sixth and final episode in the seventh season of the NBC family sitcom Family Ties. It originally aired on May 14, 1989, and is the hundred-and-seventy-sixth and final episode of the series overall.
Synopsis[]
Elyse feels a sense of loss as Alex prepares to move to New York.
Plot[]
Alex says his goodbyes to Skippy, Nick, and Lauren. Tension between Alex and Elyse boils over, mostly stemming from his departure and his attitude toward the family. During Andy's show, Elyse daydreams about Alex, but doesn't find peace. The two have an emotional talk and come to terms with their new normal in life.
