Leland University is a college thirty miles away from the Keaton house. It has an excellent economics program. Alex P. Keaton begins there as a freshman in Season 3 after winning the McKinley Scholarship.[1] The school also offers the Steadman Scholarship.[2] Leland was found in 1896. Its Latin motto is Scientia est Libertas. One of its fraternities is Alpha Phi Epsilon,[3] and one of its sororities is Theta Pi Sigma.[4] Their radio station is WLEL.[5]
In The Real Thing: Part 1, a train station called "Leland, OH" is seen. That suggests that either Leland University is in a town of the same name, or the university has its own train station.
