Episode Info[edit | edit source]

Episode #80 - Season 4, Episode 13

First Aired: January 9, 1986

Plot[edit | edit source]

Jennifer asks Alex to help her prepare a Social Studies presentation on how a bill becomes a law.  She is frustrated that all her classmates do such good projects.  Alex, as usual, goes overboard and suggests some (literally) heavy reading.  Jennifer, however, does an excellent presentation that brings her classmates to their feet.  Jennifer is nominated for the Thomas Dewey Award (Alex won it three years in a row), but she doesn't feel she deserves it (because of all of Alex's help).

Funny Moments[edit | edit source]

  • When Jennifer's teacher asks Alex if he helped Jennifer with the presentation, he replies (in a very stupid voice): "I don't know nothing about this government mumbo-jumbo."

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Alex suggests several (really thick) books for Jennifer to gather her research from: 1) Inside the U.S. Legislature by Martin Carruthers; 2) Lawmaking in Western Society by Beatrice P. Duvall; and 3) Jurisprudence in the Common Law by Bunson and Scheitz.
  • Belita Moreno also appears in "Elyse D'Arc".
  • David Wohl appears in four different episodes.
