"Working At It" is the twenty-second episode in the second season of the NBC family sitcom Family Ties. It originally aired on May 10, 1984, and is the forty-fourth episode of the series overall.
Synopsis[]
Elyse gets a new job at an architectural firm and experiences challenges at work and at home.
Plot[]
Elyse is on her way to an interview at an architectural office with Karen Banks (played by Rebecca Balding). She worries how getting this job might affect her home life. The interview is tough, but Elyse pulls through and gets the job. She quickly finds out that she is technologically behind and challenged with her initial project. Elyse and Steven have a (relatively funny) argument about the new work situation. After a disastrous presentation, Elyse reevaluates her position in the workforce.
